It has been a long time I haven’t posted about makeup! I was caught up with real life dramas that my beauty posts were on hold. hahaha.

This morning I watched Liza Eldridge’s latest video and it sort of inspired me to do this post. Her video entitled “The buy nothing everyday makeup”. It is sort of a GRWM (get ready with me) video. In this video, she is encouraging her followers to use the makeup that they have already and not buy new ones.

This is what I have been doing the whole year last year. Stop buying makeup. I was able to do it but then I relapsed a few times. I will do it again this year.

Like what Liza said all the brands these days come out with new makeup every season that it becomes so overwhelming. That’s actually what I felt last year. There are just too many makeups that are coming out. And most often than not it is just the same. Just packaged differently (especially the eye makeup palettes). You will end up with too many palettes that has more or less the same shades only because you want to buy the latest.

After watching Liza Eldridge’s video it sort encouraged me more to stop buying makeup. I am on the right track. I am not the only one who feels it’s too much. It is really too much that it is a total waste of money.

I don’t know if I have matured that’s why I feel like this. Or maybe there’s just really a lot in the market already that it is so confusing and you wouldn’t know what to buy anymore.

Recently I have been using the same makeup every day. Since last year I have been trying to cut down my time when I get ready. 2 hours is just way too much wasted time. What I did was I simplified my make up.

The first thing I skipped on is foundation. I have been using BB creams or CC creams (tinted moisturizer). There’s really no need to pack your face with too much foundation for your everyday makeup. If you have good skin all you need to do is even out your skin tone and all you need is a tinted moisturizer. I have a lot of pigmentation so I need to cover that up. I use BB cream and put minimal foundation on the inner part of my face where my pigmentations are. And the rest I use concealer.

The BB Cream, foundation, and concealer I have been using:

Andalou Naturals Beauty Balm ( this has 50 spf), NARS Velvet Matte  Foundation Stick in the shade Deaville Light 4, and for my concealer, I use Catrice Camouflage Cream

The Catrice Camouflage Cream concealer is a good dupe for NARS Soft Matte Complete Concealer.

For my eye makeup, I use bronzer all over my eyelids. The bronzer I have been using lately is this:

NARS Laguna Tiare Bronzer

I’ve had this for a long time already (maybe 2 years) and I rarely used it. So, I took it out from my drawer and this is what I have been using everyday. Like I said I also use this all over my eyelids and at the same time I use this as a bronzer.

For my eyeliner and for depth on the outer part of my eyes I use:

Melt Rott Stack

The one with a star is the shade I am using as an eyeliner

When I am really in a hurry I sometimes skip my blush. Since I have already a bronzer it sort of act as my blusher too. But ever since I bought this blush I have been using it non stop. I super love this. It’s very pigmented and I love the scent. And also it blends very well with NARS Tiare bronzer.

Physicians Formula Butter Blush in the shade Plum Rose

Physicians Formula’s Butter range is very, very good. I have their Butter Bronzer and their Butter highlighter. This is one of Physician Formula’s most popular product.

The highlighter I am crazy these days is:

Makeup revolution London Goddess of Love Triple Baked Highlighter

I have been using this everyday since last year. This is one of my favorite highlighters. Very pigmented and not too shimmery.

To set everything I am still using the same powder for more than a year already.

Chanel Poudre Universelle Libre. Natural Finish Loose Powder,

I have been using this for over a year and I haven’t even used half of it. This is one of the reasons why I love Chanel makeup. It takes forever for you to finish it. It’s really worth your money.

Maybe at this point, you can already tell that the shades I am using are all nudes. I love natural colors. I want to look as natural as I can.

The lipstick I’m using is:

NARS Velvet Lipgloss in the shade Stripped

This is what they call your lips but better. I use this almost everyday.

One of the things that I never skip even if I’m in a hurry is false eyelashes. I might skip mascara but never my falsies. I hardly have any eyelashes at all so, this is very important to me. Eyelashes will make or break you. So, I never leave home without wearing falsies.

The mascara I’m wearing now is:

Maybelline Long Extreme Stiletto Mascara. And for my eyeliner, I use Eye of Horus in the shade Bronze

And for the most important part, the eyebrows. I use this together:

Benefit Ka-Brow Cream-Gel Brow shade 2. NYX Micro Brow Pencil in the shade Taupe. L’Oreal Brow Artist Plumper

This might look like a lot of products (actually, it is a lot of products. hahaha) for me to achieve this everyday makeup. But the most important thing is I am able to cut down on my time while looking decent and put together (I hope).

Liza Eldridge is right. Just use whatever makeup you have in your stash and stop buying new ones. It’s the most sensible thing I learned today. Actually, I have been doing this since last year but like I said sometimes I get sucked in with the promotions and I end up buying.

But not this year.

This is first-day hair that’s why my hair looks flat and very straight. My hair usually looks nice on my second-day hair.
